Detailed Description

This saree celebrates traditional symbolism and intricate craftsmanship. The body is woven in multicolour podi kattam, creating a lively yet balanced texture through fine, closely set checks that reflect subtle colour play.

The saree is elevated by a striking purple border, beautifully detailed with the sacred Karpaga Vriksham (wish-fulfilling tree) motif—an emblem of prosperity and abundance. Adding further depth, the border features two distinct bird motifs, one in red and the other in blue, both meticulously woven in pure zari, lending contrast and symbolic richness.

The thalappu (pallu) is densely adorned with Godhumai Charadu motifs, a traditional pattern symbolising nourishment, continuity, and growth. The zari work here enhances the ceremonial appeal while maintaining harmony with the overall design.

What is Pure Zari?

Pure Zari is crafted using real silver, drawn into fine threads and coated with gold, then wrapped over a silk core. Unlike imitation or tested zari, pure zari has a natural sheen, superior durability, and graceful ageing—gaining character over time rather than fading.
